Artists as Activists/Thomas Jefferson Collaboration

During my pre-student teaching at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School in the fall of 2016, I facilitated between a 5th grade art class and students in Moravian College's Artists as Activists class. Students created a collaborative mural based on research of the Site C Dam in British Columbia, which will flood hundreds of acres of farmland, graves, and homes of indigenous people. The mural was on view at Moravian College in February 2017 and all students, teachers, administrators, and families were invited to a reception showcasing the students work at the H. Paty Eiffe Gallery - Moravian College, February 2017
